Volunteering with us is exciting, rewarding work It requires energy, commitment, reliability, creativity - and a sense of humour!

There are a number of Volunteering Opportunities, Home-Visiting, Toy Library, Creche, Fund Raising or to be part of our Board of Trustees.

Home-Start volunteers need to be parents themselves. We need people from all ages, backgrounds and genders! No qualifications are necessary - just, understanding, discretion, the ability to listen, commitment to the families you visit and a willingness to share your parenting experience.
  • We ask our volunteers to commit to three or four hours per week at a time that is suitable to them.
  • We ask all potential volunteers to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure.
  • All potential home-visiting volunteers must undertake a Preparation Course (approximately 40 hours) usually run during school hours.
  • Volunteers are fully re-imbursed for all out of pocket expenses incurred whilst on Home-Start business.
