Who We Are

Making A Difference For Children And Families In Clackmannanshire

Home-Start Clackmannanshire has a 33-year history of helping families across our local communities. Our work is driven by a deep commitment to supporting parents – in their homes and in local communities – in the critical early years of childhood, and beyond.  We are a voluntary organisation committed to promoting the welfare of families with at least one child under twelve years of age. The Staff Team and Volunteers offer regular emotional support, friendship, and practical help to local families under stress. Our Staff and Volunteers work within the family home where they help prevent family crises and breakdowns. We currently offer the following services:

Supporting Young Families

Our robust 8-week training programme (plus regular ongoing training) equips our Family Support Volunteers for their role which is to offer a friendly hand to support families with their daily challenges. Knowing that every family’s challenges are different and unique in their own way, we are very aware of just how important the matching process is. Our Family Support Coordinators therefore undertake the matching of family and volunteer with extra care.

Here at Home-Start Clackmannanshire, we provide support to parents at a time when they need us most and our values are always at the forefront of the work we do:

We work in partnership with our statutory colleagues and local agencies to ensure we reach as many families as possible and to provide the right kind of support, when it is needed.
